2009 Audi Q5 Fuel System, Gasoline problems & defects.

Audi Q5 Fuel System, Gasoline problems : 1.

The Vehicle Had Been Running Rough For A Week Or So. Then We Noticed A Strong Gas Smell Coming From The Car. We Brought The Car In For Service And It Was Discovered That The Plastic fuel Pump In The Gas Tank Had Developed Fractures And Was Spraying fuel Under The Car Beneath The Rear Passenger Seat. The Mechanic Related We Were Very Lucky That There Wasn’t A Fire. When He Replaced The Pump With A Factory Replacement Part. He Noted That He Could Feel The Plastic Top Of The New fuel Pump Pulsating. He Contacted audi To See If There Was A Recall And There Was None. The Mechanic Feels The Part Will Fail Again. You Can See Tiny Fractures In The Top Of The fuel Pump. I Still Have The Old Pump If You Need It I Will Be Happy To Send It To You. This Is One Of The Worst fuel Leaks The Mechanic Has Seen And Feels It Is Potentially Very Dangerous. The Mechanic Felt So Strongly About This That He Suggested Making A Complaint To Nhtsa And To Get Rid Of The Car. *tr

I have a 2010 Audi Q5 3.2 and the inside of my cabin smells like gas everyday, it will go away after a little bit of time but it is still not good that it smells like gas inside the car. I have seen online that this is a PCV related issue but I am scheduling a service today to find out if in fact it is the PCV system. I personally am not a fan of this car and I would much rather have an Lexus RX350 in its place and that is something that I might actually go trade this in for, because that won’t ever smell like gas no modern car should smell like gas in the cabin…… I have never had this issue with my Porsche, BMW, or Mercedes or our Lexus for that matter. I am not a fan of this car all that much and plan on selling it now that I am writing this up.Our Q7 on the other hand I love that but I’m not a fan of this Q5. But yeah my car has a gas smelling issue inside the cabin once I drop it off for service I’ll find out if it is the PCV system or not.

Andrew, this recently started with me, a strong gas smell in the rear passenger seat of the car. There are no leaks, but the smell is there off and on?! Did you research this, is there a recall on the fuel pump?

I have a 2009 Audi Q7 and everyday I’m smelling more and more gas smells. I started read up on the issues and I found that over 70 people have the same problem with there Audi Q7 from 2007 to 2009. Where they all of a sudden start smelling gas. If there is a recall please send me the recall paper in the mail before I blow up please.

I having the same issues with my 2009 Audi Q7 I just don’t know what going on with the smelling of gas very strong and I left t out of the garage cause I thought it was the lawnmower making the garage smell like gas. However I was the Audi 2009 Q7 smelling like gas I look underneath the car and didn’t see any leaks at all. Why would it smell like gas if no gas is leaking??????

Thanks for the info, same issue, same problem, cracked fuel pump head. $900 to replace even though Audi have done a recall for this problem in Europe, not here in Asia!
